On this day we will travel to Cape Coast. On the way, you get acquainted with the colonial history. After a beautiful trip over the coastal road and a short visit to Fort Amsterdam and the fisherman at the beach, a visit to Elmina castle and the Elmina fish market will be our next stop.

Elmina castle is one of the sixty forts and castles that where build by the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British, during the time of trade in gold, ivory and slaves.

A visit to Elmina Castle as well as Cape Coast Castle is a must because it will give you a feel of the agony your ancestors went through. We will send you to your host family after the program.

5th day
On this day, we make a 250 km. journey north of Cape Coast to Kumasi on one of the slave routes listed by the "UNESCO". Our first stop will be at Assin Manso. Here the slaves bought in the mainland were washed in the river before they were taken to the Castles. Because this river was the last stop of the slaves, there is a shrine on the river where libation is poured for our departed ancestors.

In the year 1998 two bodies were flown in from the Caribbean and North America and were buried just in front of the river. This is to signify the home coming of our brothers and sisters in the Diaspora.
In the afternoon you will visit the Ashanti palace museum and the Kejetia market in Kumasi. You will spend the night at a host family.

6th day
Excursion to craft villages; Pankrono, Ahwiaa and Ntonso.
