Ghana has a tropical and moist climate, with daily temperatures ranging between 22ºC and 35ºC. Throughout the year, sunshine is guaranteed. During our tours, we at African Network Travel and Tours will inform and prepare you on the climatic conditions of each region as we travel along.
In the south, the humidity is high, but a cool sea breeze brings refreshment. In the north, the days are dryer and warmer compared to the south, and the nights are cooler.
Ghana is dual-seasonal: it has wet and dry seasons. The rainy season starts from the end of May till the end of September, at this time the temperature will come down a bit. In May, June and September the rains are generally light, but in July and August tropical rains can occur.
Harmattan is the name for the northeasterly winds, which reach Ghana from the Sahara during the dry season. These winds provide the coast with warmer days and cooler nights, especially during December and January.
